A few warnings about Scammers:
- Many of them use regular email addresses like Gmail, Yahoo, Live, or whatever else is out there - this does not mean that every regular email address points to a scammer, many free-lance or part-time brokers for funding sources work with regular email addresses
- Some Scammers will set up websites and more elaborate sales systems - watch for 'creative' upfront fees - example of a 'scam' website: http://www.dherleyfinancehome.net/
- Only fees that are accepted in the investing world should be considered and can be negotiated. Fees such as 'due diligence' expenses (the potential investor needs to check all the information, facts, contracts, accounting, etc) are common and logical. WHEN the fees should be paid and IF they get deducted from the funded amount can be open to negotiation
- Initial applications for funding should not require you to give out sensitive personal information (bank accounts, passwords, credit cards numbers, etc.), at this stage the purpose of communication is to assess the investment opportunity, not to acquire sensitive information
- Use your intelligence, your logic, your brains - if unsure, consult an accountant, a banker, an attorney, or anyone who has had experience with funding
REMEMBER ALL OF THESE POINTS WHEN LOOKING AT 'FUNDING SOURCES' ON THIS SITE AND ELSEWHERE. Some scammers that were rejected to post on this site as a Funding Source still try to leave messages for funding seekers by making comments to their investment proposals. Use Caution.
